Dale Karch., Owner of 3Rivers Archery, Argentina 2009
"I took my first big game animal with a bow on my 46th birthday. A beautiful 48 1/2" kudu bull that I took with my 46# Tomahawk "SS" named, "The African Queen." Under pressure, and on film, I shot a perfect arrow. The Woodsman® broadhead completely penetrated the 1,000# kudu. I couldn't be happier with my kudu, my impressive 46# Tomahawk "SS", and my deadly Woodsman® Broadheads."

Greg Szalewski, proud owner of Dale Karch's first Tomahawk Longbow, sends us this picture of his latest trophy. Greg's description makes us feel like we were there!
"I chose one of my favorite stands down by the creek. About 5 minutes went by and I caught some movement to the west. A deer was coming, heading straight east. He looked to be a 2 and a half year old with a fair rack. At about 12 yards I drew and released hitting him low in the chest and tight to the back of the near front leg. The blood trail was immediate and very easy to follow. After only 60 yards I found my deer. He had went down so fast his antlers were tangled in the tag alders."

Our friends from Primal Dreams send us this picture of a magnificent buck harvested with a Woodsman Broadhead. Whitey's brother, Mike, tells us: "I found one of his sheds last spring (15 inch back tine), and I filmed him this past summer in velvet about a mile from where Whitey shot it. It came by him at 10:15 following a doe. Perfect heart shot. 24 inches wide inside, 12 1/2 inch back tine and about a 10 inch drop with 6 other sticker tines on base." What a trophy! Eric Proshuto sends us this picture of his first traditional harvest.
Eric says: "He emerged from behind the brush pile 10 yards away, slightly up hill from me. I gave a fairly loud baaaahht to stop him. I got a clean passthrough of both lungs. The buck is a buck of a life time and the hunt was a split second decision to set up an ambush that resulted in one of the most amazing blessings of my life. I got on my knees and gave thanks to God for this magnificent creature and the opportunity to experience the hunt and the harvest."

Greg is one of Dale's best friends, these guys even built bows together years ago. Greg sent us a picture of his most recent whitetail and a few comments about his Tomahawk bow and the Woodsman broadheads he was using.
"Dale, as you can see life is pretty good, even if you are using a very early production longbow given to you by a start-up bowyer. I'm sure it is a reject, but have no idea what to look for. Not to mention the Woodsman broadheads you also gave me.
In spite of that, the doe I shot this last Sat. went down after a few brief seconds, thus relieving me of my tracking duties.
Thanks Dale, I have gotten to like that bow so well I no longer object to putting my recurve in semi retirement."
Congratulations Greg!

"I'm sold on Woodsmans! Snuffers are great, but I will be using Woodsmans from now on. This big 15-pt NY buck went all of 50 yards and completely bled out 10-15 seconds after he was hit. Went through right lung, heart, and quartered the left lung before the remaining shaft and blade worked out the left side of the deer. Blade was still shaving sharp too!"

Here's a nice black bear shot by bowhunter John Adrihan. He shared his story with us...
"I thought I would just drop a line to tell you my Woodsman broadhead story. They were the first broadhead I used and I shot a nice nine point buck and a caribou with them, both shots were complete pass throughs and blood poured out. After gaining a little more traditional archery knowledge and seeing videos and talking to all kinds of 'experts' I switched to grizzlies, I never felt 100% confidence with them because I never got them razor sharp. But I shot deer with them and things seemed good, last year I shot a doe at 15 yards and never hit a bone or a rib and the arrow barely went through, I recovered the deer after a long blood trail that was pin head size drops. I switched back to Woodsman broadheads this year and just shot a nice blackbear at 18 yards."

Pat Lefemine, long time traditional bowhunter, made a fantastic shot on this big grizzly as it charged. The 950 pound mountain grizzly measured 8'3" and made B&C. Pat used a Black Widow recurve bow and Woodsman broadheads on this brute. Glad you made it home Pat!

A purely American scene... 3 firefighters on a well deserved hunting trip with their trophy elk. Our friend Kevin West (middle) sums it up best: "We're all firefighters and success is found together as a team and not as the individual. We all made this hunt happen and could never have pulled it off solo."
A great attitude to go with a great hunt!

Peyton Griffis has had a lot of luck with the Woodsman Broadhead, taking one mule deer, two whitetails, and this very nice Colorado elk. Peyton called him into about 14 yards, and shot. The Woodsman flew through the elk like a hot knife through butter. After a 50 yard blood trail, Peyton recovered his trophy, and started filling his freezer with steaks!
Peyton tells us: "I am a true believer of the Woodsmans after using them for 3 years now. I've taken one elk, a nice muley, a whitetail 8 pointer, and a doe, and the results have been the same. Unbelievable blood trails and fast kills. Thanks for a great broadhead." And thank you for sharing your success with us, Petyon!

Here's a picture of Rick Fowler and the elk he harvested on a recent trip to Arizona.
Rick says it best himself: "I took this bull on the 4th day of the archery season with my trusty Pronghorn longbow , Gold-Tip carbon arrows and a Woodsman broadhead. The Bull is a 6 X 8 that grosses in the 340's. We worked this bull earlier in the morning but couldn't get him to come in. Later in the morning we worked our way into his cows then called again and that brought him in to shooting range. Your broadhead performend flawlessly, thanks for a quality product."

Mark Solley put his new Woodsman Broadheads to the test when he went Alaska moose hunting! But the Woodsman was as ready for the challenge as Mark was! Here's what Mark told 3Rivers Technical Expert Shawn Leins: "This is the first big game animal I've ever taken with a bow. At 20 yards, that Woodsman (total arrow weight 520 grains from my 55# Saxon Hawk recurve) penetrated the rib far enough to stab the heart. It dead centered the rib about 2 inches above the brisket, a pretty thick part of the rib bone, but poked through about 2 inches to hit the heart. Awesome experience and Thanks for your Super Customer Service!" And thank you for sharing this great hunting story with us, Mark!

Al tells us: "Just thought I share this pic and a bit of a story of how things went down on my lastest hunt back home in Oz. Attached is a pic of my first Chital deer (a doe but we call 'em Hinds here in Oz) that I took from 12 yards with a Woodsman Broadhead, taken spot and stalk style, on foot and with no shoes on, socks only. I truly believe the Woodsman heads are the best out there for deer and I've them on all my hunting arrows now-a-days. Thanks to the crew at 3Rivers!"

Dale Karch, owner of 3Rivers Archery, Tomahawk Bows™ and Woodsman™ Broadheads recently traveled to the barren but beautiful Holman area of Canada's Northwest Territories. He shared an all traditional bowhunting camp with fellow traditional bowhunters, Len Rinke, Ted Judson, and Bryan Burkhardt. The musk oxen were a challenge to these old fashioned bow and arrow hunters, yet everyone filled their tags. His Tomahawk "SS" performed flawlessly as did the Woodsman™ broadheads. This turned out to be a special bowhunt that these traditional archery shooters will talk about for years.

Ted Judson loves traditional archery and bowhunting with traditional equipment. He worked hard to put a good stalk and shot on this nice musk ox in the rocky bluffs near Holman, NWT, Canada. He was using his favorite longbow and trusted Woodsman™ Broadheads. He actually coined a new phrase for the Woodsman™ broadhead on this hunt: "Woodsman™ broadheads are good through the hide of the other side." We like that. He shared a bowhunting camp with Dale Karch, Bryan Burkhardt, and Len Rinke. It was a great hunt for all.

Mike Yancey has every right to smile over this trophy! The North American Pronghorn is one of the most difficult game to harvest. Living on the open plains, Pronghorn rely on their speed and eyesight to avoid predators. They can detect movement up to 4 miles away, and they are the fastest animal in the western hemisphere, running in 20-foot bounds at up to 60 miles per hour.
But even this phantom of the plains was no match for Mike and his Woodsman Broadhead! Like a meat seeking missile, the Woodsman Broadhead punched through this pronghorn's pump station, giving Mike a nice trophy and great memories! Congratulations, Mike!
